What is wellness.


Wellness is active consistently practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, but you're thriving.
In order to understand the significance of wellness, it's important to understand how it's linked to health.


The Global Wellness Institute defines wellness as the active pursuit of activities, choices and lifestyles that lead to a state of holistic health. Many people often use the terms health and wellness interchangeably. Although a person cannot have one and not the other, they are two different concepts that are quite variable, but  their meanings are different.


The primary difference between health and wellness is that health is the goal and wellness is the active process of achieving it. You truly cannot have health without first achieving wellness. Wellness has a direct influence on overall health, which is essential for living a robust, happy, and fulfilled life.


Scientifically health is described a state of being, whereas wellness is the state of living a healthy lifestyle. Health refers to physical, mental, and social well-being, whereas wellness aims to enhance that state of well-being.


Wellness is more than just physical health; it is holistic and multidimensional. It comprises six dimensions that include physical, intellectual, emotional, environmental, social, and spiritual wellness.


By engaging in incredibly good wellness health, you can improve your overall health status. That could include reducing the risk of certain diseases, improving your mental state, or reducing stress levels. All of these things can help you live a healthier and longer life.


Physical wellness encompasses a variety of healthy behaviors including adequate exercise, proper nutrition and abstaining from harmful habits such as drug use and alcohol abuse.
It means learning about and identifying symptoms of disease, getting regular medical checkups, and protecting yourself from injuries and harm.
