DAAR Communication's "Daar music global platform comes to life".

The DAAR Music Global platform is out to promote good music, Africa. Its first artist Kanvee Adams a Liberian comes through with a brand new album, titled “mama.

According to the founder of “DAAR Music Global”, High Chief Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi, who described the vision of the platform, as an instrument for Nigeria's talent show case to the outer world.

DAAR Music Global launch attracted top government officials, media executives, and African diplomats all from the West African sub-region who believes the platform will add value to the music industry on the continent.

The Launch featured and signed on international gospel star, Kanvee Adams who started singing at the age of 7. The songstress, who said "the breakthrough is the biggest moment in her musical career".

Olamide the young boy, who played the lead role in Foluke Daramola-Salako’s movie, ' Cobweb, died in Lagos' recently.

The actress posted on Instagram handle her sad condolence statement and picture of the boy with the ping “Death! Where is your sting? Olamide David, my lead character in Cobweb, why does it have to be now? Why why why?”

According to family members, t'was revealed Olamide was playing football with his friends when another player mistakenly kicked him in the stomach. He fell to the ground in excruciating pains.

Olamide was rushed to Ikeja General Hospital, Lagos where he eventually passed on.

The young Nollywood actor bagged the award for best kid actor at the 2015, BON awards held at Akure Ondo State.

Pat Odia, famous for timeless designs, trademark haute couture little colourful dresses, Pat's famous fashion design label 'Doluchie Couture Concept' is a true epitome of creativity.

Pat Odia is a self-made woman. Specialising in haute couture, ("high" or "elegant.") sewing high quality African fabric adopted creative designs, and custom-made,high fashion women's clothings.

DCC a renowned Nigerian fashion signature once featured on the "Young Power African Women" award platform. She once created African talents fashion label for African beauty peagants from her porpular Oregun fashion academy studio in bustling heartland, Ikeja business district.

Her career path began in 1999, in Lagos. She was born in the city, to the illustrious Engr and Mrs Odia family received her education in Lagos, stepped into modelling and acting where worked back stage as clothier to the actors on set, where the flare for fashion began.
Then proceed to unilag where she obtain certificate in mass communication and speech writing. Not satisfied, her love for fashion design curiosity, lead her to the Institute of Textile Technology, Arts & Designs Lagos and also Noble Afrik fashion Academy. Just to upscale her architectural creativity senses of imaginations best fit for the fashion freaks and fashionistas.

Travelling around Africa, Pat Odia got the opportunity to learn about different fabric cultures at a young age. She absorbed new knowledge like a sponge, studying more clothing creations between Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal etc to mention a few, but this was not her prerogative in life, only fashion was her biggest passion, and first love.

Thus, the love for clothes architecture led her to fashion design. Since her knowledge traverse Africa she quietly began to combine different culture designs, she was able to express this through her fashion collections purpose made for working women of different ages, class, and preferences throughout Nigeria.

Fame soon mean, high factual men would come knocking, just about this rising moment in her career path. Sooner rather than later maternity meant she had to quit the fashion circus to raise and manage her home.

She had a diminutive career as a desiger during her unceremonious vacation from the fashion world. Soon the girl child from the matrimony had grown so fast (a graduate of Micro-biology) to join the mother's return to her new clothes shop again 2018, to forn a "mother and child Doluchie Couture Concept at Igando Alimosho Lagos area.


In the year 2017 she launched her first perfume made of natural extracts and artificial essence named 'Patbodyline' while running under the network marketing company 'GNLD', and in 2018 when the daughter joined to momdel her mother's clothing lines, she designed and introduced the "DCC Dress" which is now the core, "hand made to measure" curation of Pat Odia Fashion Academy.

Pat Odia also now introduced the concept of using soft jersey fabric to create and embellish clothing for women' see through fabric undergarments.

Strategic partnerships can take on various forms from hand shake gents and ladies agreements, contractual cooperation's

Leadership Control. Avoid autocracy, and allow time for the team to weigh in on decisions. Decides who leads discussion and communication with third partied to the projects. Develop good team spirits, giving credit where credit is due and recognize team performance as well as individual excellence.

Dont just collaborate for the sake of it, sometimes social cooperation may just help the relationship make steady progress. The team must make collaboration fun,exciting, and celebrate completions of successful projects.

Another Star Was Born!!

Suddenly the burning desire to reach for the sky exploded in her!!

TY Bello

Serendipitiously, a soulful singer,and photographer in Nigeria. She was the official photographer to former Nigerian President H.E Goodluck Jonathan GCFON. TY Bello as popularly called is not just a singer and photographer, she’s also a songwriter and philanthropist.

TY, real name Toyin Sokefun-Bello born to the illustrious Sokefun famiy of Ogun State Nigeria. Graduate of University of Lagos, where she obtained her degree in Economics, later another degree in Journalism, then a serenade for photography.

Career

Before her saunter into photography TY Bello was a member of the defunct gospel band KUSH (Kinetically Ushering Salvation into Hearts and Homes).
TY is also a member of the Nigerian photography collective, Depth of Field.
TY is best known for her debut singles

-Freedom

-Let’s Live Together, (with the group Kush) an album they produced before disbanding.

In 2008, TY Bello released her debut studio album Greenland which took her two years to develop. It was produced by Mosa Adegboye.

That album earned her, the Nigeria Music Award including the Sound City Award. She describes the album as a journey of her everyday life and experiences.

The music of Greenland embodies the themes of love, family and nation. The title track, an inspirational song written to motivate fellow Nigerians to liberate themselves from a place of despair, to a place of hope!


In February of 2011, TY Bello released another heart rendering single titled “The Future”. The song urges Nigerian youths to be the CHANGE they seek to be.

Popular director, Kemi Adetiba-directed music video for “The Future” which was eventually released on the 3rd of April 2011. It featured foremost star sturded appearances from Tara Fela-Durotoye, Sound Sultan, Chude Jideonwo and Banky W fame!

In October 2011, TY Bello among other super stars, featured in an eight-minute anti-rape video compiled by the Nigerian Ministry of Youth Development.

The anti-rape video shed light on the victims of gang rape at the state owned Abia State University in September 2011.

In December 2013, TY Bello released another single debut album, “Yahweh” featuring Wale Adenuga. The song features additional vocals from Nwando Okeke and Mosa.

On 10 October 2014, TY Bello released her third studio album The Morning Songbook for free digital download via SoundCloud.

That album was phenomena, released without promotion and comprises a 10 tracks, “Yahweh”, “Thirsty” and “Jesu Jesu”. That album featured collaborations with M Sugh and Fela Durotoye.

In 2018, TY Bello commenced a music journey of soulfully,  inspirational song series ‘Spontaneous Song’ described by many as songs of the chariot of glorious fire of Christ.

She left a will after all!!

The late Queen of soul did not die intestate after all. according to the guardian news USA. Three handwritten wills has been found in the suburban Detroit home of Aretha Franklin, months after the death of the “Queen of Soul”, including one that was discovered under cushions in the living room, a lawyer said Monday. The latest one is dated March 2014 and appears to give the famous singer’s assets to family members. Some writing is extremely hard to decipher, however, and the four pages have words scratched out and phrases in the margins. Ms Franklin 76 passed away last year after years of battling pancreatic cancer. At the time family members claimed she died intestate, however, according to her attorney (Mr Bennet ) of 40years, suddenly 3 wills were later found. The attorney has filed on in but not sure if it was legal according to the Michigan state laws. It appears like a lesson to the living, as we grow our career and professional paths, do we consider life after death? Dont forget bonds and unbondings we make along our career corridors of fame and fortunes. Families, friends, fans, staff, managers, legal, and associations we may belong to or hold dear to our hearts. As we make plans to reach for stardom, do we remember to make plans for our exits either in the profession, or this earth? Its important, when we write our career, biz, or professional plans, we should remember to include EXIT PLANS not withstanding. So long, take care!!

Ignorance Is Not Excuse!!

There's really not a blessing in not knowing or noticing a talented or skilled person in your hoods.

Truly, are we better off to "tend to our own affairs" and walk or drive pass through life blissfully pretenting unawareness of  communal facts and obligation that might likely "bother us" or impact society.

Many have this selfish attitude, and some even offer scriptural "proof" (it is nice to know just enough, to know one does not walk away) to cover certain or obvious ineptitude.

Several gifted individuals languish in our local communities here in Nigeria; not due to the economic lagases, but for lack of knowledge and information vital to their natural progress in their career path. 

Once, in 2009 sauntering along a meadring road, that house a social relaxation corner. On approach, i heard karaoke song blaring through a bungy speaker. 
A look inside, revealed 6 young boys and girls mimicking a popular song by one of the top stars in Lagos. Mehn! they came through rather better than the original, with their own version. 

Hangout! revellers got up to offer them money, bottles of beer, and suya pack. Listening and bonded to the song and band's retwit lyrics, it done on me, "this folks need some kind of publicity". 

I walked over, after the show and request to meet their manager, to my suprise they have none. They spoke in unison! 'oga we de manage our sef uu ooo'. I chuck a sickie!!  So i gave them my business card, invited them over for a meeting. 

The band team turned up, we discussed role of band's manager, publicity, adverts, and marketing; quite literally why they should develop their band brand. 

Long and short, "BusyBee band" today provide freelance instrumental back up to popular one man artist all over Nigeria.

The lead vocal 'Adesegun' drop by with gifts in while, in appreciation of the very first meeting and education. 

I feel rather fulfilled, and ecstatic, to be historically referenced as the founder of (not in partnership term) the popular freelance group B'B. 

The group have provided backup to a lot of stars in Nigeria today working in the background, quietly part taking in the limelight of those solo artist, and carefull articulate stardom management.

Usually refered to as a popular form of photography to chronicle events or environments both significant and relevant to history, including social events as well as normal everyday activity records. Dont mistake this for photojournalism. Both are commercially viable field work careers, with significant varying differences. Ok whats photojournalism then?

Photojournalism.

Photojournalism is a profession involving the use of photos to illustrate news or evidence base incident or events. Photojournalist captures images in a fashion that it is capable of making viewers understand pictorial details of particular incident or an accident. Photojournalist, capturing the scenic occurrence for reportage in a perfect manner is often herculin task, requiring lots of patience rapt attention, and experience to handle the situation in the best possible way.

Photojournalist must capture images in a manner that provide supportive line to the news media platform or circumstance prevalence.

Documentary Photography, refers to a form of photography used to represent events, activities, surrounding and environments which are more relevant to history or heritage historical events.

Documentary photography includes the day to day life events coverage related to futuristic memoir expressing historical journalism. Documentary photographs are often filed and kept for future references, its more or less a trend now to display them in museums, gallery and art house. Most fetching handsome cash unbeliveably.

Photojournalism images focus on the short term audience involvement, whereas as documentary photography images are stored for long-term repetitive usage.

The photojournalism pictures are published once in the newspapers, TV media, etc and achived, theyre are used only in short term. However, documentary images are stored for future usage, historical display, including gallery sales, and most becoming arts collectable items for art lovers.

These images literally tell history or the past. Closely Photojournalism and Documentary photography are interrelated, Nowadays both professions now infuse their hand work into the art market, competing favourably with professional hand crafted drawing artists.

It takes a lot of effort and practise to become a revenue photojournalist, requiring simple but precision driven task . It requires lots of patience and experience to handle most tough situations. Either ways photojournalists dont often have the best of comfortable position to capture scenes, they have to make use of varying situations and circumstance possibly to capture their pictures and scenes.

Becoming a good documentary photographer, apart from the skill or talents with persevering patience. You need a lot of tools to enhance your ability to make a living from that career.
Even if its a hobby, it will certainly take a lot of your natural and physical resources.

However, in this age where the best camera phones can compete with the standalone cameras we once relied on so much, choosing a phone with a top-notch camera is a smart choice. So much can be done with modern time sophisticated smartphones.

So whether your a professional photographer or an amateur hobbist, needing to be photo ready at any given time or a designer who just wanted to boost your skills then it makes sense to grab the best camera phone you can afford; its equally a nice starting point.

Song writer's block.

Breaking that song writers block!

Hey! Howdy, everyone who has tried to write a song or poem knows how frustrating it can be at times. You can count number of times, you hit the writer's block and stuffing the trash bin with your note papers! Ahaaa right ain't?

I'm sure you've experienced it as well. It's probably, reason some blokes, end up just being a support on stage.

I've written around 50 songs, about just anything with exciting lyrics. Quite literally, it still does not make me a master of the art, but I have encouraged myself to practice and practice, infact lots of it.

It's a known fact that every minutes around your hoods more than 50 people listening to music on radio, felt like "I can sing that portion better" and when they sit down to re-write the song, they suddenly come down with a serious case of writer's block.

Do you have a song writer's spirit in the first instance. Ask yourself?

Some of these ideas often come along with either curiosity or inspiration, sometimes it can be just subjects and topics, while others may be titles that will hopefully spark something in your imagination.

Feel free to run with some of my generated idea clue whichever way try your skill!

What song idea hits your mind often arrives depending upon mood and style. For example, it could be
-song about love and relationship
-song about having fun
-song about people's reaction to situation
-song about religion and teaching
-song about something happening in your environment
-song about yourself or life experience
-song about money and the economy
-song about a foklore or festival
-song about injustice.... the list is endless that wave stream can ping your mind from any direction.

What you often need to consider, also is to decide what genre does your song idea fits best.

Most times, its often a global concept, it may just fit pop, R&B, jazz, soul, gospel, reggae, electronic,or even classic. So long as it will grab the listners attention.

What is the hardest part of writing a song?

Finishing the song, finding out what to clue the lyric with, writing the ending signature so the listener want to try it again and again. You can't finish a song all in one day, except if you wish to bang it in and bang it out.

Here is a cool way to go!
Start with a song title.
Can be one word or comvination.... "Alhaja gimme lov" or "Love"

Song theme
Here you could enact an emotional lyric, relationship, or feeling of let down.

Use of develipmental path
Fit a story path to the lyric, the start and the end.
-Verse.....'the problem'
-Chorus....'how it happened'
-Bridge....'my response
-chorus....'What happened in the end'

Choose a melody
That is starting your lyric with straight melody or melody with words, it could just well be words the the melody.

Record your song concept idea
Satisfied with your structure, get on with it and record onto a device either pc, iphone, smartphone, tape or recorder.

Listen to yourself
Now pretend your the listner, or an anxious artist looking to buy a song!

Never give up practising, you cant be perfect over night.

Good start to the new week. Just a little heads up, to let you into whats trending in your local hoods.

Wondering if you ever, imagine where to hang out, to explore self potentials? I mean, where you physically can get involved, or promote your natural abilities?

Boys or girls hide out, hangout, relaxation joint, or a local social club in your hoods? How about a local social club, where you get inspiration or motivation!

Talking about a Social club this can be a group of people or a local place where group meet, generally formed around a common interest, profession, or activity.

For examples an animal friends club, writers club, arts club, music club, charity work group, chess club, country club, old aged person's club, fishing club, gaming club, gentlemen's club, hunting club, military officer's club, politics clubs, science clubs, university clubs. This list is endless.

Why join a club?

People join association or social clubs for several reasons. Personal development,  clubs and organizations give you the opportunity to meet a diverse population of people that allow you to expand your thinking and interest.

Learned abilities: this is abilities we have learn either by our own personal observations, educational environment, religious cohabitation, social engagements, societal norm trials and error, or process taught us by someone else.

Sometimes in process of learning  a skill some raw natural talents do often comes to light, example of this is our amiable songstress Ara the popular drumer. Growing up in the drumers compound, of male dominated traditional konga and talking drum group, having been watching, and participating in maintenance of the talking drum.

Ara was able to develop and use the natural talking drum talent beyond where it became musical prowries, and training trainers for other female talking drum academy.

Significantly it is certian at any point in life provided one is determined and encourage can aquire a *SkILL as TALENT*.

Spiritual gifts: SP on the other hand,  are God's given abilities to individuals of a particular spiritual nature, gifted form, inner biological functions, for spiritual impacting purposes.

The world have watched and listen to Christians, Muslims including Buhdist and Krishnan in action, with erudite display of wonderful spiritual gifts, learned abilities, and natural talents coinciding with Spiritual endowment.

Spiritual gifts is in no doubt an apparent incredible additional to natural talents and learned abilities, combining to present us our distinct unique, brand characteristics molding our career paths in life.

Now this refer to (something special to your ability) talent that makes you stand out from your peers, or the crowd because your skill and expertise is regarded as great.
For example, do you have a nice vocal contro, songwriting inspiration, flexible imagination for artistic sketches, or flair for fabric design? Do you speak a second or language? Who is an amateur artist?

Amateur Artists believe that if they build it, you will come!!!

How do you describe an artist as a professional or as an amateur? That's not necessarily making a judgement about the quality of their art. Just expression of human, sight and discerning mind.

A professional can be described as a person engaged in a specified activity as an ongoing, and main paid occupation ; rather than as a pastime activity.

Therefore, a professional artist is in the business of producing art to make steady liveable income.

Whereas, an amateur may sell work and derive income from his or her art, but that is not the primary motivation. Most amateurs for them art may be a passion, a hobby, a skill acquired, or a recreational pastime, but it does not matter if their work doesn’t sell. They are not in business to make money at all cost.

Many professional popular artists on the beats today, began their careers as amateurs, and there are many amateurs out there who are as skilled as professionals but remain in the corners.


A professional knows that there is more to being an artist then simply creating art.  They understand their social and economic responsibility towards their families, and know how important it is for their art to fetch money.
Professional artists never get too attached to their artwork because they understand its someone else responsibility to turn it into cash, in order to have the opportunity to create another one.

Professional artists understand that they not only need to know how to create their art, but they also have to know how to market and sell their work as well.

 They make it a point to find out who their potential customers are, and where they hang out.
