TY Bello
Serendipitiously, a soulful singer,and photographer in Nigeria. She was the official photographer to former Nigerian President H.E Goodluck Jonathan GCFON. TY Bello as popularly called is not just a singer and photographer, she’s also a songwriter and philanthropist.
TY, real name Toyin Sokefun-Bello born to the illustrious Sokefun famiy of Ogun State Nigeria. Graduate of University of Lagos, where she obtained her degree in Economics, later another degree in Journalism, then a serenade for photography.
Career
Before her saunter into photography TY Bello was a member of the defunct gospel band KUSH (Kinetically Ushering Salvation into Hearts and Homes).
TY is also a member of the Nigerian photography collective, Depth of Field.

In 2008, TY Bello released her debut studio album Greenland which took her two years to develop. It was produced by Mosa Adegboye.
That album earned her, the Nigeria Music Award including the Sound City Award. She describes the album as a journey of her everyday life and experiences.
The music of Greenland embodies the themes of love, family and nation. The title track, an inspirational song written to motivate fellow Nigerians to liberate themselves from a place of despair, to a place of hope!
In February of 2011, TY Bello released another heart rendering single titled “The Future”. The song urges Nigerian youths to be the CHANGE they seek to be.
Popular director, Kemi Adetiba-directed music video for “The Future” which was eventually released on the 3rd of April 2011. It featured foremost star sturded appearances from Tara Fela-Durotoye, Sound Sultan, Chude Jideonwo and Banky W fame!
In October 2011, TY Bello among other super stars, featured in an eight-minute anti-rape video compiled by the Nigerian Ministry of Youth Development.
The anti-rape video shed light on the victims of gang rape at the state owned Abia State University in September 2011.
In December 2013, TY Bello released another single debut album, “Yahweh” featuring Wale Adenuga. The song features additional vocals from Nwando Okeke and Mosa.
On 10 October 2014, TY Bello released her third studio album The Morning Songbook for free digital download via SoundCloud.
That album was phenomena, released without promotion and comprises a 10 tracks, “Yahweh”, “Thirsty” and “Jesu Jesu”. That album featured collaborations with M Sugh and Fela Durotoye.
In 2018, TY Bello commenced a music journey of soulfully, inspirational song series ‘Spontaneous Song’ described by many as songs of the chariot of glorious fire of Christ.
TY Bello has since been inspiration and leap spring of collaboration board with many singers up rising stars, Psalmists, gospel artists, bible foklore singers and many more. Hilarious awe motivating lifting block chain for Nigerian youths, and struggling amateur artist.
